The Jacksonville Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club honored Mr. Chase at the American Legion Post 194 in St. Augustine, Florida on Veteran Day, 11 November 2007.
Mr. Chase was recognized for his contributions to our great nation and was awarded the title of Honorary Lifetime Member of the Buffalo Soldiers and Paid Up For Life Membership in the American Legion.

Howard "Thunder " Ford
Howard "Thunder " Ford was a Buffalo Soldier, and as a Buffalo Soldier he upheld the standards and traditions set forth by BSMCJAX MC Chapter and the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers and Troopers Motorcycle Clubs.
He was proud of his colors and the rich history that they represent. Thunder wore his colors with pride and would do all within his power to educate the general public about the rich history of the 9th and 10th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers.
Howard "Thunder " Ford respected his colors and his Buffalo Soldier sisters and brothers. When Howard "Thunder " Ford riding days came to an end, we will be remembered as one who served with dignity as a responsible biker and a proud Buffalo Soldier.
